From the Manufacturer One of the most talked about debuts at Toy Fair 2013 was the milestone Series 10 Predators collection, an homage to the Kenner Predator collection from the early 90s. Taking inspiration from the original Kenner Expanded Universe designs, our team have applied modern sculpting, detail and articulation to upgrade these vintage Predators for the new millennium. This is the Nightstorm Predator utilizing a different unique body, with over 20 points of articulation, accessories and intricate deco. Special blister card packaging is an homage to the classic card art as well featuring custom illustrated art and a color pallet that harkens back to the toy shelves of 1993. Blister Card Packaging.

Cosmetically, this figure is beautiful... Neca outdid themselves with this figure, from the dabs of grays and blues here and there to the inside of the mask being incredibly detailed, this is undoubtably my new favourite Neca Predator figure. Now lets get to the bad parts.. Getting this guy out of the package is a little tricky at first, knowing Neca's reputation for the blades breaking on the predator figures, it was a little scary removing it from the package. The blades on this figure however are MUCH sturdier than the previous figures, so thats a plus. The paint job, as stated before is great, i love it! BUT the joints in his arms are painted, and once you bend them, the paint chips right off, no big deal since its just a plain black joint, but it would have been nice to keep the blue paint on there. Next, the articulation.. Not the best, his head doesn't move too much, arms are great, but his legs are the issue, if anyone is familiar with the Berserker predator figure, this one has the same kind of legs, there's no articulation in the hip area, the thigh area however, can rotate, the knees obviously bend forward and back, but depending on the way you bend his legs, the outcome looks weird, in a way the legs are kinda warped because the shin plates are oddly placed, not much room for cool poses with his stiff articulation. On to the next issue, which is a huge one for me.. The staff (or what ever its called) DOES NOT fit into his hand... I think i'll have to put it in some hot water for a few minutes to loosen the hand and pry the staff in there because there's no way to get that thing in his hand.. All in all despite the negatives, i can't deny that this is definitely my new favourite from NECA. 5 star rating for the beauty of this figure, minused one for the complaints I mentioned. So to sum it up, if you want this figure simply because it's a beautiful sculpt, then get it! If you're going for more of the pose-ability and taking cool photos of him, you might be disappointed, For my needs (a few simple flicks for instagram then to the shelf for the rest of its life) it's just prefect. As a collector I own nearly every Neca predator. Until this series the collection was getting a bit repetitive and borderline boring. This series however provides a refreshing sense of vibrancy! The characters are unique, intensely colorful and this one comes with some killer accessories. Overall, Nightstorm is very accurately conveyed by the stock photos. The only discrepancy is the intense light used in the "in package" photograph. This lightens his color, where as in normal light he is much darker as seen in the out of package photo. Being the same figure body as the berserker, you can expect the same issues. His stance is very unstable and getting him in a solid standing position takes some time. His accessories are killer! However be careful with them. Luckily the mask is soft and can be safely stretched to fit over his tusks. The staff however is very difficult to get into his hand because the hand is very hard and not flexible. I was able to get it in without having to apply any heat, but probably came close to breaking it. Overall, series 10 is great, each figure holds up to the stock photos and if you love Neca predators you shouldn't hesitate!PROS - The sculpt on this figure is superb, very good modern rendition of the original. Removable mask is a HUGE improvement as there aren't many NECA Kenner remakes with this quality. Mask fits great on the pred's face and the staff is a perfect homage to the original. As the face and body are basically the same as the berserker pred that's what you're getting here. But I like the colors better. Topping it off, they kinda explain why this pred is different from most of the other Kenner-clan preds. The back story is on the card.CONS - The super predator sculpt was very detailed, but the range of posing options is severely limited due to that. If you just want him to stand tall and look menacing, then this will suit you fine. But if you want a dynamic stance like with the regular "hunter" and "city hunter" clan preds, you'll be a bit wanting. The wrist blades are also in a fixed position. This is like the kenner version so not much to complain about, it's just a pain to pack him for storage since they don't retract. The more recent waves of NECA Predatrs have had significant improvemnt over this slightly older figure which was a repaint/mold of the Predators movie line. The accesories are fantastic. The figure itself is quite unique, very well done paint and washed out colors, The gold has a slight teal color wash is certain areas and it looks super cool, the skin is a two tone blue colors without the iconic mesh The skull and spine combo staff is incredible and the REMOVABLE mask is awesome, they even sculted and detailed the inside of the mask which wasnt necassary. This is why I love NECA figures it always feels like passionate and loving attention to detail that the sculpters and painters poured hours into their projectsWonderful detailing and lots of care were obviously put into this Egytian style figure my only complaints are that his feet don't have swivels or rockers, just a calf swivel and as a result he is nearly impossible to stand u withough leaning against anything and you can see his knee joint form the front other than that its perect.Another great figure from neca who have done a great job of capturing the old kenner figures linegood figureExcellent tribute to the old Kenner figure. Great detail. This item is very detailed. A fantastic collectable. NECA is excellent. If your a predator fan then this is for you.
